I have just learned of this program. Does anyone know anything? Is it
really as good as the website makes it sound?

My Aunt Belongs to Elderhostel and loves it. She takes trips all the
time with them. She is in her mid 70's and travels more than ever. She's
going someplace once a month it seems and has been a member of
Elderhostel for at least 7 years. My Aunt is going to live to 100 I'd
bet. My Grandma lived to be 99 and she takes after her. She's such a
cool gal. She can talk your ear off about politics. :-)

Elderhostel has programs for RVers... the people I know who have done
Elderhostel programs love them, especially the ones that are designed for
Grandparent/grandchildren experiences. I think they look expensive, compared
to doing something on your own -- but what a great and safe way for singles or
folks who want some support and guidance to 'get out there' and do things.

We've taken a couple of trips to Europe with Elderhostle and have
enjoyed them emensely. Considering that all meals and transfers are
included, we feel that the trips have been bargains. One trip was a
barge trip in France and the food was elegant.

There are now notices, in the trip explanations provided by the
organization, of the degree of exertion that one is to expect. The
guides are very professional and each trip that we've taken provided
a true education about the area. Most are centered on a theme or a
region and it's certainly not the kind of tour where you've covered
"12 counties in 10 days". Rather, it's a kind of saturation technique
where one returns very satisfied that they've learned something.
